Shadow Days, told from Shay's perspective, chronicles the days before the start of the New York Times bestselling Nightshade, when Shay is taken away from the friends he loves and forced to live in his uncle Bosqu Mar's mansion, where the gargoyles seem to move, magic seems real, and nothing is as it should be.

Shadow Days A Penguin Special from Philomel Books Nightshade eBook Andrea Cremer

I love Andrea Cremers Nightshade series! And this is an amazing short story of Shays perspective before the first book nightshade. It ends when he meets up with the bear, I was hoping to have his opinion on Calla and her wolf form/ transformation but it ended before that. Still worth it to read. I love Shay. Maybe sometime we could get a short story on Rens perspective on things. He was my favorite and very sad to see him leave the series :( RIP Renier Love me some wolves<3

Shadow Days A Penguin Special from Philomel Books Nightshade eBook Andrea Cremer Reviews

I dont really think it contributed anything to the story whatsoever. It would have been nice if there had been some xplanatikns for things but it kinda left me with more questions.
I read this novella after I read book 1 Nightshade. Shadow Days is a great introduction to Shay and getting to know him before he meets Calla. I loved meeting his friends he had made before he moved into his uncles estate. Ally is my favourite. Andrea sets the scene perfectly and it did make me like Shay a little bit more. I could picture everything so clearly. Although I must admit at this point I am still Team Ren!!! It was fun seeing Shay trying to figure our social media and run a blog - Points scored there )

Final Thoughts This was a great quick read!
This novella occurs before Nightshade so if you haven’t gotten around to reading the first installment or if you just want a sneak peek into this series, Shadow Days is a great way to go. It’s written a little differently though because it’s from Shay’s perspective instead of Calla’s. I enjoyed his POV slightly more than Miss Tor’s but not by much. In this novella we get to experience Shay’s first impressions of Rowan Estate, his family home, and his angst over having to move (again) before the start of his senior year in high school.

I adored Shay in book one so I was thrilled that he got his own prequel. The brief glance Cremer gave readers of Rowan Estate in Nightshade creeped me out but this tale definitely reinforced those feelings! I would love to be able to walk those halls but I would have second thoughts about spending the night. I felt bad for Shay being forced to live there full-time. Imagine feeling always on edge in your own home. Brutal! I also really enjoyed the way that Cremer incorporates social media into this prequel. The fact that Shay’s Facebook page really exists makes this story feel all the more real. I loved his down-to-earth demeanor. His uncle may be wealthy, but Doran’s insistence in paying for his own vehicle made me admire him even more.

Shadow Day is an easy read that’ll put a smile on your face and if you’re a Shay fan this prequel will reinforce those sentiments twofold.
I like this series it keeps me reading it ....It is also a ok price for something that only has to be downloaded
If you loved the first three books you will love this one. A great peek into shady as he settles in before meeting calmly. Excellent
I like the holes it fills in for me. It is always great to see another character’s pony of view!
This is the prequel to the Nightshade -- from Shay's perspective. It was a great way to see his interactions with his "Uncle" and how he ultimately got into that hairy situation with the bear. Great read.
