A Plain Disappearance An Appleseed Creek Mystery Amanda Flower 9781433676994 Books
Chloe Humphrey is back in A Plain Disappearance, the third book in Amanda Flower's Appleseed Creek Mystery series. Chloe's excitement about her new relationship and spending Christmas with her new friends quickly evaporates when an Amish teenager is discovered dead. When all signs point to Appleseed Creek's mechanic and Timothy's friend as the murderer, Chloe knows she has to discover the truth... whatever that may be.In my review of the first book I mentioned how much I liked the cover and I feel the need to bring that up again. All of the covers for these books are lovely, but this one stands out as my absolute favorite. So beautiful! I was actually given the first two books in the series in order to review them and I enjoyed them so much that I bought the third book for myself. There were several instances when I thought I had the mystery all figured out, but in the end I was taken by surprise. And there's so much more to the story than the murder mystery. There's romance, drama, humor... a little bit of everything! I can't wait for the next book (there just has to be a fourth! Please, please, please!).

A Plain Disappearance An Appleseed Creek Mystery Amanda Flower 9781433676994 Books Reviews
"A Plain Disappearance" by Amanda Flower is another five star story in (An Appleseed Creek Mystery). I think this book is my favorite of the series.
Like the other books, this could be a stand alone novel but it is enhanced by reading the other 2 novels first.
"A Plain Disappearance " starts out with Timothy and Chloe on a sleigh ride, enjoying the day. All too soon their joy is spoiled by discovering a body in the snow. While waiting on the police chef to arrive, they also discovered that Timothy's best friend, Billy may be the one responsible for the death!
Billy has disappeared, so Timothy and Chloe are on the hunt to find him. When they do find him, they learn he isn't really who he says he is, but that doesn't mean he is the killer! There are a lot of scary moments when they finally catch up to where Billy has hidden!
The best part in this book is what happens to Curt,( one of the English boys set on causing trouble).
The ending in all three books were a surprise to me, but I have to say this ending was a Big Surprise. I had no clue who was the murderer. The twists and turns in this story kept me turning the pages!
The ending left me wanting more in the series.
I haven't been disappointed in any of this author's books that I have read and am looking forward to reading more from her!
Riding in the snow and freezing cold Chloe and Timothy stop to take a walk in the snow. Timothy wanted to make this time together special because he has a special Christmas gift to give Chloe. As excited as Chloe was for the gift it quickly left her mind when they discover a body. Now their special private moment together became very public.
Chloe was determined to help find out who was responsible for the death of this young teenage Amish girl. She suspected it had to be someone local. It put her on high alert and gave her cause to be always watching over her shoulder for danger.
Timothy knew the number one suspect was a friend of his but they had to be wrong and he had to find a way to prove Billy was innocent.
I normally don't read cloak and dagger but decided to give this book a go since it was about an Amish community. I am glad I read the book. I thought I had the crime solved from the beginning, which I am usually right but not this crime. The author threw me for a loop and boy was I surprised. I will definitely be reading more from this author.
I don't want to reveal anything important so I would highly recommend you read the book.
I rated this book a 5 out of 5.
Disclosure I received a free copy of this book from Handlebar Central/B&H Publishing for an honest review.
First off, it is long overdue for me to share that I "grade" books based upon the story. Period.
Not all mysteries are, nor should be, nail-biting, on the edge of your seat, can't put it down because you fear for the characters type books. If that were the case, there would be no stories of the genre appropriate for younger or too-sensitive readers. And while some might argue that those books alone warrant 5 stars, I believe that "softer" stories well-written and interesting are just as worthy of the highest accolades.
This is one of those "lighter" mysteries, where the violent deeds are mentioned but not so vividly described. You DO care about the characters. And the author has included several interesting twists and turns associated with discovering the true murderer.
I found it a delightful read, and a nice break from the more intense selections I more oft read in the genre. But I like most genres and levels of writing, well-writ. Yes, I enjoy children's books; I also like factual books, as well as factually-based books (such as historical fiction). If you want a good story, I suspect you'll enjoy this book. If adult content (action, violence, but little or no sexuality) is necessary for you to enjoy a book, choose Dean Koontz or Colleen Thompson....
This is my favorite so far! It's the holidays and everyone in Appleseed Creek is ready to celebrate in their own way.
Chloe is looking forward to her first Christmas with the Troyer family. Becky is thrilled to plan a Christmas party and Chloe is happy to see her young friend enjoying the holiday.
When family friend Katie Lambright is found dead, the holiday festivities spiral into a tale of greed, abuse and lies. When Billy Thorpe, the duct tape king, is caught in the middle, his past catches up with him and his bad decisions are making things worse. When Chief Rose asks Chloe to do her "Amish" thing ( talking to the quiet community), Timothy and Chloe become tangled in another horrible murder, deep in the Amish community.
Of course, the horrible Brock and Curt make an appearance, but I must admit, I am impressed with Curt's attitude toward the end.
This deserves 10 stars, but I only can give it 5.
The ending was superb, it left me begging for more.
